The phrase “Christian movie” has many definitions - a Christian filmmaker, a faith-based story, or a Christian film company. But not all movies are so easily defined.  Some mainstream films have strong Christian content but were made by non-Christians.

Here, then, are 10 mainstream films that we’d call “Christian movies”...


For Christian movies fans, 2018 was a memorable year.  We saw yet another film shock Hollywood with its box office success (I Can Only Imagine). We also watched films about the New Testament (Paul: Apostle of Christ), the Old Testament (Samson), and about American military life (Indivisible and Unbroken: Path to Redemption).

2019 will likely will be another noteworthy year for faith-based movies.  Here are six Christian films we’re looking forward to watching:

At Times, "Aquaman" Seems a Little Waterlogged

The film is nearly two-and-a-half hours long, and I felt every bit of it. While really fun in places, it still tries to stuff way too much story on screen.  And parents should be wary of the extreme violence in the picture.
